The Spires Academy site is currently adhering to DfE guidance and ensuring measures are implemented to support the safety and wellbeing of both staff and pupils.
Due to the nature of the work we do with the children and the transport restrictions, we are operating on a 'one bubble' system. Whilst this means that all staff can offer support to all of our children, it does mean that if we have a confirmed case of COVID-19 all pupils and staff may be required to isolate. We will continue to follow DfE and Public Health guidance and update our risk assessment as and when guidance changes.
We urge you not to send your children into school if they have symptoms of COVID-19.
The main symptoms of coronavirus (COVID-19) are:
a high temperature – this means you feel hot to touch on your chest or back (you do not need to measure your temperature)
a new, continuous cough – this means coughing a lot for more than an hour, or 3 or more coughing episodes in 24 hours (if you usually have a cough, it may be worse than usual)
a loss or change to your sense of smell or taste – this means you've noticed you cannot smell or taste anything, or things smell or taste different to normal
To protect others, do not go to places like a GP surgery, pharmacy or hospital if you have any of these symptoms. Get a test to check if you have Coronavirus and stay at home until you get your result.
