On this page, the SEN team will be adding items for those who may want some additional support for their children. We want to ensure that the pupils are supported as best as possible, although home learning is not mandatory at our school we like to provide parents with the option.

Please obtain your child’s username and password from the class teacher to access the learning platforms.
Pupils and young people with cognition and learning difficulties will learn at a slower pace than other pupils. They may have greater difficulty than their peers in acquiring literacy and numeracy skills, or in understanding concepts, even with appropriate differentiation.

These will introduce you to Read, Write Inc phonics, as well as show you how sounds are pronounced and also help show you how we teach the children at school. This will allow you to be able to support your children in the same way that we do at school.

Social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) needs are a type of special educational needs in which pupils/young people have severe difficulties in managing their emotions and behaviour. They often show inappropriate responses and feelings to situations. This means that they have trouble in building and maintaining relationships with peers and adults; they can also struggle to engage with learning and to cope in the classroom without additional strategies and interventions. Pupils with SEMH will often feel anxious, scared and misunderstood.

Colourful Semantics have a wealth of resources for free to support early language and sentence construction.
- Integrated Treatment Services
Colourful semantics is an approach created by Alison Bryan. It is aimed at helping children to develop their grammar but it is rooted in the meaning of words (semantics). Colourful semantics reassembles sentences by cutting them up into their thematic roles and then colour codes them. The approach has 4 key colour coded stages. There are further stages for adverbs, adjectives, conjunctions and negatives. - Activity: Who what doing what and where

P.E. With Joe began on Monday 23rd March 2020 in response to coronavirus pandemic and the UK lockdown. When it was announced that all schools would be closed and with the prospect of us all spending more time at home, Joe felt it was more important than ever that we all kept moving and stayed healthy and positive.

Bitesize is the BBC's free online study support resource for school-age pupils in the United Kingdom. It is designed to aid pupils in both schoolwork and, for older pupils, exams.
